My Chemical Romance close first day at Download My Chemical Romance closed the first night of Download Festival tonight (June 8). The New Jersey goth rockers headlined their first outdoor UK festival with a sprightly set that mixed recent album 'The Black Parade' with a host of fan favourites. The show also saw singer Gerard Way mention to his recent engagement for the first time in public. Before playing 'I Don't Love You' Way asked the crowd: "Do you want to fuck me? Is that what you said? That seat's already taken!" The band also gave shout outs to Zico Chain and Buckcherry before playing 'The Sharpest Lives'. "The next song we're going to play is about violence," Way explained before playing forthcoming single 'Teenagers'. "Sometimes you feel like you don't fit in," he said. "You get desperate, you get upset. The one thing you don't do is try to solve your problems with fucking violence!" My Chemical Romance: 'Dead!' 'This Is How I Disappear' 'I'm Not Okay, I Promise' 'The Sharpest Lives' 'Welcome To The Black Parade' 'I Don't Love You' 'Give 'Em Hell Kid' 'House Of Wolves' 'Teenagers' 'You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison' 'Disenchanted' 'Mama' "Famous Last Words' 'Cancer' 'Helena' The Download Festival continues tomorrow (June 9) with Linkin Park, Marilyn Manson and Biffy Clyro among those set to play.
